What We Do

Our Mission

“To equip people to live healthy, hopeful, and productive lives.”

Health & Wellness

Healthy

We aim to promote healthy lives. In order to do this, we provide many services to the community. Our integrated health model is comprised of a free health clinic that serves low-income families and individuals through providing adult primary care, diabetes and hypertension management, mental health services and health education programs.

Annually, we host a “Back to School” Children’s Health Fair, which is the largest health event in Mecklenburg County. This event enables thousands of children to receive free physicals, health education, and backpacks full of school supplies every year.

Overall we provide comprehensive and multicultural health and wellness services to low-income families. The hours of operation for our services are listed below:

Primary Care Clinic - Tuesday – Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mental Health Services – Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Health Education/health screening

Physical activities

  • Zumba - Monday and Wednesday 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 a.m.

Hope Services

Hopeful

We aim to promote hopeful lives. We believe that hope begins when basic needs are met—like food and companionship. Two of our main outreaches are our homeless ministry and the Pantry.

Overall we provide hope and empowerment through services and education. The following are the hours of operation for the services we provide:

Food Pantry - Tuesday 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Homeless Support program 1st and 3rd. Saturday of Month 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Economic Opportunity

Productive

We aim to promote productive lives. Through the Economic Opportunity initiative we empower the under-served community to begin businesses and embrace prosperity. This area of the Community Center is quickly growing and we are constantly engaging with new people to help lift up our community. Through our Economic Opportunity Services we seek to enhance financial literacy as well as providing job training.

Our overall desire is to create a pathway to upward mobility by empowering our community through financial literacy programs, workforce training, and the creation of small businesses. Below are a few core areas of focus:

Small Business Incubator

Workforce Development

Financial Education
